DEFINITIONS

POLICY

1. Staff meetings for nursing, including Registered Nurses (RNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs), are held weekly during the academic year and as needed.
2. RNs and MAs are sent an electronic weekly update at the end of each week summarizing any pertinent issues.
3. Other work-related communication updates are sent out as needed via email, text, voice mail, or verbally.
4. The nursing staff meets with other departments as needed throughout the academic year for continuing education or to discuss issues of mutual concern.
5. Minutes for nursing staff meetings are shared with RNs and MAs after each weekly meeting and are saved electronically in a Director of Nursing file.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the organization and planning of meetings and for dispersing any written or verbal communication as needed.
